The app serves as your secure interface to the blockchain, allowing you to view balances, send and receive crypto, manage accounts, and install coin applications without exposing private keys to the internet.
Visit the official Ledger website and download Ledger Live for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android). Always verify that the domain is ledger.com.
Follow the installation steps and open Ledger Live. You will be guided through a short onboarding process designed to verify authenticity and explain security basics.
Connect your Ledger hardware wallet using the supplied USB cable or Bluetooth (for supported models). Unlock the device using your PIN.
Choose whether to set up a new wallet or restore an existing one using your 24-word recovery phrase. This step takes place directly on the hardware device.
Install apps for supported cryptocurrencies and add accounts within Ledger Live to start sending, receiving, and tracking assets.
Ledger® Live never has access to your private keys. All cryptographic operations are performed inside the Secure Element of your Ledger hardware wallet.
